Abstract

Adipose tissue macrophages regulate adipose tissue inflammation and systemic insulin-glucose homeostasis. In a recent study by Ying etal. (2021), M2 polarized bone marrow-derived macrophages secreted exosomes containing miR-690 that, when administered to obese mice, improved glucose-insulin homeostasis. miR-690 reduced expression of Nadk, which decreased inflammation and improved insulin signaling.
