Abstract
AbstractThe history of the recovery of the masses that comprize the Glorieta Mountain, New Mexico, siderite is reviewed. The present paper is based on a detailed mineralogical, metallographical, and chemical investigation of the remarkable cane‐shaped specimen from the Department of Geology of the University of New Mexico. The meteoritic constituents present are kamacite, taenite, plessite, schreibersite, and lawrencite. The meteorite is classified as a medium octahedrite (Om).
