Abstract

Geodiversity, although it is a recent area of knowledge, has a great ramification, with the heritage appeal to abiotic environments constituting one of these branches. Geopatrimony with a geological focus presents a greater diffusion, however there is currently a growth of its similar destined to relief forms, the Geomorphopatrimony also called Geomorphological Heritage. Due to their greater initial development, many Geosites were evaluated solely from a geological perspective, but also containing a remarkable value for the Geomorphological Heritage, thus there is a need for a reassessment from a geomorphological point of view. The aim is to highlight the Geosites present in the municipality of Acari, in Rio Grande do Norte, which have the potential to be recognized as a Geomorphosite. From the study, it was found that of the four Geosites inventoried, three have sufficient geomorphological relevance to fit as Geomorphosites, being a remarkable contribution of a methodological and practical nature to geosciences and especially to Geodiversity.
