Abstract
AbstractThis article summarizes the recent reports on the chemical components and biological activities of the genus Derris Lour. There are about 240 compounds isolated from this genus, including 31 rotenoids, 146 flavones and their derivatives (flavans, isoflavones, chalcones), 7 triterpenoids, 23 pterocarpans, 10 coumarins, and 34 other compounds. Many compounds have unique structures and exhibit potential biological effects including insecticides, antioxidant, antimicrobial, antifungal, antihyperglycemic, and cytotoxic activities. This review aims to systematically provide research results on the chemical composition and biological activities of Derris species.
