Abstract

Genome-wide association studies have yielded important insights into psychiatric illness. However, high genetic correlations between diagnoses have limited the utility of GWAS for prediction. These high genetic correlations could be explained by a shared genetic basis for transdiagnostic symptom dimensions, such as positive psychoses. These analyses report the genetic structure of symptoms of psychotic disorders.
