Abstract

ABSTRACT A Core Research Project within the Global Change and Terrestrial Ecosystems (GCTE) programme is the Soil Erosion Network. The objective of the Network is to identify the most suitable experimental and monitoring databases, and the most robust models for global change studies. Meetings at Oxford (1995) and Utrecht (1997) attempted to evaluate erosion models at both field and watershed scale using common data sets. While the results of the performance of the different models varied, useful conclusions of the model strengths and shortfalls were defined.
