Abstract

It is widely believed that the strong, electromagnetic, weak, and maybe even gravitational interactions can all be described by one unified gauge theory with spontaneous symmetry breaking. Although no such unified theory has been fully constructed as yet, it is clear that among its ingredients there must be i) spin 1/2 Fermi fields ii) spin 1 and 2 gauge fields iii) spin 0 Nambu-Goldstone and Higgs fields.
