The future of national unity in Sudan: anthropological analysis of Ethno-cultural relations

Abstract

This research stems from a complex question about national unity in Sudan: How was it? What is its current situation? How could its future be? By linking the relationship between the historical periods that Sudan has gone through, and the political and social practices. The historical method was use by analyzing the historical facts and events related to the topic of the research, as well as using the descriptive approach to the current reality, and analyzing the historical process and reality to reach future anticipation. One of the most important results is that in light of the Sudanese governments' lack of interest, whether civilian or military, to protect citizens by stopping discrimination and ethnic cleansing, achieving social, economic and political justice, and achieving citizenship without discrimination, National ethno-cultural unity will not be achieved soon in Sudan. However, by reading the history of conflicts in different societies, the inevitability of compatibility will impose itself through the internal mechanisms of society, such as the love of survival and stability, and external factors such as international human rights laws and human security.
