Beginning from choosing the topic, figure analysis, to designing covers in the context of subtext, this paper attempts to analyze these underlying factor resulting in the fusion. It can be concluded that Yan together with her western publishers appeal to the western readers’ expectation for the convenience of publishing by exaggerating or adding the Chinese elements into the book, which have little to do with the content itself.
