Abstract
Inexperienced bees can be recruited simultaneously by waggle dances performed by groups of workers who are advertising food sites located at two different directions from the hive. The novices integrate the direction of the two goals and search for the geometric center. Recent experiments by Wenner and his co-workers, which were cited as evidence against the communicative role of the waggle dance, are reinterpreted in line with this new evidence.
