Abstract
In this article, through the close analysis of the Brazilian feature film Xingu. I discuss potential contributions of Indigenous peoples’ epistemologies to debates about environmental crises. The title of the film, Xingu, refers to the eponymous river that also gives name to an Indigenous reserve, the first in Brazil and, at the time of its conception, the largest in the world. The Xingu Indigenous Park remains a model of sustainability in the Brazilian context.
