Abstract
A new symmetrodont genus and species from the lower Jurassic Kota formation is denned, named and a brief description given. The new species is compared with the related Rhaetic and Jurassic forms. In view of the paucity of the fossil material and the inadequacy of the available information, it is not possible to suggest whether the new symmetrodont species should be included in a new family or if it should be classified with either the kuehneodieriids or the spalacotheriids.
