Abstract

A class of finite-dimensional even and odd pair coherent states, which may be generated via the vibrational motion of a trapped ion in two-dimensional harmonic potential in experiment, is constructed and then some of its statistical properties are discussed. The study shows that the new states exhibit remarkably different statistical properties for different parameters q and ξ.
