Abstract

The research aims to study the personal and intellectual life of the scholar Al-Sayyid Saleh bin Ali Al-Hamid, and to investigate a model from his book (On the Rays of Qur’an in Explaining the Reality of Islam on All Religions). It represented the characteristics of Islam. It is a pre-requisite for discussing a doctoral dissertation (study and investigation). The researcher used the descriptive and inductive approach, and included three topics. The first topic dealt with the personal and scientific life of Al-Hamid: (his name, lineage, title, birth, upbringing, death, the most prominent of his sheikhs and students and his writings). The second topic is the definition of the manuscript (the name of the manuscript and the validity of its attribution, the reason for authoring, and the description of the manuscript), while the third topic dealt with the characteristics of Islam (tolerance in Islam, Islam is the religion of reason, and science). Through the study, the researcher concluded that Al-Hamid was an encyclopedia, who left behind a distinguished inheritance. also concluded through the investigation that the religion of Islam is the religion of tolerance, reason and knowledge, and the religion of instinct and wisdom. Fighting was not prescribed in it to force people to enter it, but rather to consolidate the foundations of security for its adherents, and to remove strife. Shirk and disbelief on earth. The research concluded with a recommendation to study this encyclopedic personality from its various aspects, and to benefit from the works and writings he left. As well as clarifying the features and characteristics of the religion of Islam, exposing the suspicions of its opponents, and responding to them in a logical way.
