Abstract

The feasibility of direct production of Fe-Ni-Cr alloy was investigated by molten oxides electrolysis. The electrolytic deposition of Fe-Ni-Cr alloy was tried in molten oxides systems. In a molten CaO-MgO-Al2O3-Fe2O3-Cr2O3-NiO bath, the Fe-Ni-Cr alloy was successfully prepared by using molybdenum rods as cathode and anode at 1550°C, simultaneously. Moreover, the galvanostatic electrolysis for Fe-Ni-Cr alloy in molten oxides system was also performed as the prepositive experiments. The results indicated that the direct production of Fe-Ni-Cr alloy via molten oxides electrolysis could be achievable.
