Abstract

Fifty years after the publication of the first work by N. Wiener, the fundamental concepts of Cybernetics have been assimilated and enriched. The classic concept of the closed loop is re-examined here in order to highlight the implicit yet fundamental role of man in relation to cybernetic systems. In real time, these systems are at the cross-roads of physical causation and human intentionality. These intentionalities are primarily derived from the preliminary intentions of the designers. Between the design and the action, there is thus an essential duality, which also exists between project and production, and which can lead to a cognitive model of the design activity.
