Abstract

Objectives To explore the expressions of PLK1 and its clinical significance in prostatic carcinoma.Methods PLK1 is detected in 51 prostatic carcinoma and 35 benign prostatic hyperplasia tissue by immunohistochemical PV-9000 two steps method.Results There is a over expression of PLK1 in prostate carcinoma and there is significant difference between the two groups(P <0.05).The positive rate of PLK1 in poorly differentiated groups and the moderately differentiated groups are higher than well-differentiated groups(P < 0.05),there also is significant difference between poorly differentiated groups and the moderately differentiated groups (P < 0.05).The positive rate in C ~ D period is higher than that of A ~ B period,and there is significance difference between the two groups (P < 0.05).There is no significant relationship between PLK1 positive rate and age,also there is no significant relationship between PLK1 positive rate and the size of tumor.There is positive correlation between PLK1 positive rate and Gleason score,as well as clinical stage.Conclusions The high expression of PLK1 in prostate carcinoma has a relationship with the proliferous activity.It plaies a importante role in the oncogenesis and the development of the prostate carcinoma,and it may become a new ideal target in treating prostate carcinoma.
