Abstract
With the rapid development of technology of aviation, aerospace, sensor and computer, the improvement of commercialization level and application popularization of the software of digital photogrammetry and remote sensing image processing, has opened a broad prospect for image data acquisition, process and application. Image data as a main carrier of spatial data is playing an increasingly important role in the field of geographic information. Vector data is mainly used in current GIS software. The establishment of vector database is the basic function of many GIS software such as GEOSTAR, MAPGIS etc. However the technology for establishment for establishment of mass image database and management is not mature, which has strictly restricted the management, distribution, sharing and application of image data. At present, the construction of National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI)and Digital Earth imminently need efficient management of multi-scale and multi-resource mass image data. The data seamless organization, seamless display and roaming algorithms for image database in province level with multiple resolutions and projection zones in geometry and level spaces are put forward.
