Abstract

This article deals with the long process of formation of domestic medicine, starting with the revolutionary transformations during the zemstvo reforms; its further development in young Soviet Russia was called the Semashkin model of healthcare and the period of the first epidemiological revolution, on the basis of which Western scientists built their theory of the second epidemiological revolution.
