Abstract

A new method of simulation about the excitation system for an electromagnetic flowmeter is presented. Our development has been focused on the computer simulation by finite element analysis, rather than making some experiments in the real environment. It improves the researching efficiency. In this paper, we use low frequency rectangular wave for excitation. The simulation couples circuit and electromagnetic field by finite element analysis. And make lots of meshes on the cross section of the whole model after the material parameters had been set. The work processing of the excitation system is the coupling between electric field and the magnetic field. The results of this coupling analysis can get more accurate induced voltage with weighting function in the simulation of electromagnetic flowmeter. This method makes researchers to study more visualized.
