Abstract

AbstractThe excitation map (|det (I – RphS+−)| as a function of E, k|; Rph, S+− reflection matrices of the substrate and the barrier, respectively) is used for qualitatively treating the following aspects of surface barrier resonances: decomposition of complex resonance states with respect to their source effects (beam emergences), ground resonance and Bragg effects, resonance profile and resonance energy, and interaction and superposition of resonance processes.
