Abstract

Donald Trump, who was elected president in 2016, positioned himself as a president who cares about American industry and jobs for Americans. His relations with big businesses during the first period of his presidency in 2017-19 can be described as quite optimistic. The administration has adjusted the work of the Council of Corporations, involving the "captains of business" in discussing the future economic strategy of the republican team. The conclusion of a new trade agreement with Canada and Mexico (USMCA) inspired big business, nevertheless, by the end of 2019, serious problems were outlined.
