Abstract

The E–J characteristics of Bi-2223 silver-sheathed tape in a DC field normal to and parallel to thetape surface were measured in a wide range of electric field by a combination of the fourprobe method, Campbell’s method for AC magnetic field with various frequencies and therelaxation of magnetization. These characteristics were different depending on the kind ofmeasurements, and the difference was reasonably explained by the anisotropy ofJc with respect to the field angle and the filament sausaging. It was found that theexperimental results when compensated for these effects agree with the theoretical analysisbased on the flux creep-flow model.
