Abstract
A series of Pr-rich Pr–Cu–Al alloys was prepared by arc melting. The onset and offset melting temperatures ( T m and T l), corresponding to the solidus and liquidus temperature of the phase diagram, were determined by differential scanning calorimetry. A ternary eutectic alloy is found at the composition of Pr 68Cu 25Al 7 (at.%) with eutectic temperature at around 705 K. The ternary eutectic point was also confirmed by scanning electron microscopy observation and X-ray diffraction analysis.
