Abstract

Abstract The use of the term “detection limit” has a long and varied history. This paper describes some of the foundational principles and how the US Environmental Protection Agency has implemented those principles in its Method Detectio n Limit procedure, as well as the reasons that led to the revision and promulgation of Revision 2 in December 2016.
