Abstract
The absorption and photoluminescence spectra of uniaxially (parallel and perpendicular to crystal's “ C” axis) deformed layered crystals. GaSe. GaS and InSe are investigated at 5 K. It is shown that the results of low temperature deformation experiments may be interpreted within the model an isolated layer without taking into consideration interlayer interaction.
