Abstract
Background: The Emergency Severity Index version 4 (ESI v.4) is a triage system that has demonstrated reliability in adult populations, however, it has not been extensively studied in pediatrics. Objective: The goal of this study is to measure the interrater reliability and degree of agreement of the ESI v.4 in the pediatric population between pediatric emergency (PEM) physicians and pediatric triage (PT) nurses. Methods: In this prospective study PEM physicians and PT nurses participated in an ESI v.4 training session.
