Abstract
The electron capture and β + decay of 132Cs have been investigated by means of a 4π internal source scintillation spectrometer. The L/K electron capture ratio and the K/β + ratio of the first-forbidden transition to the 668 keV level of 132I have been measured: L/K = 0.136 ± 0.001 and K/ β + = 54 ± 9. The value of Q EC = 2.31 ± 0.03 MeV has been deduced from the K/β + ratio. The β + branching ratio has been measured to be (1.5 ± 0.2)%.
