Abstract
The alpha particle detection efficiency of KODAK LR 115 II has been measured and an analytical expression for the efficiency as a function of particle energy and angle of incidence has been found. Based on the analytical expression, the shape and size of the effective volume in air in front of a LR 115 II detector has been calculated for 222 Rn and its progeny. The alpha- particle efficiency of LR 115 II coverd with thin Al-foils has also been calculated and the results compared to measurements.
