Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of improved dacryocystorhinostomy combined with lacrimal passage annular stent intubation for complex stenosis of the lacrimal passage. Methods The data of 82 eyes of 71 patients with common lacrimal duct combined with nasolacrimal duct obstruction and chronic dacryocystitis with small sac(dacryocyst diameter<1 mm) were analyzed retrospectively. The location of lacrimal duct obstruction and the size of lacrimal sac before operation were observed with dacryocystography. Improved dacryocy storhinostomy combined with lacrimal passage annular stent intubation were performed in all cases and the lacrimal passage annular stent removed 3 months after surgery. Clinical efficacy was analyzed. Results Among them, 76 eyes (92.68%) were cured and 6 eyes (7.32%) were not cured, no obvious complication occurred. Conclusion Improved dacryocystorhinostomy combined with lacrimal passage annular stent intubation for the treament of complex stenosis of lacrimal passage is an effective method.
