Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of alumina-based all ceramic crowns and the related complications.Methods 276 affected teeth including 162 maxillary anterior teeth and 104 lower anterior teeth in the patients who had treated during the period of June 2009 to December 2011 restoration were randomly divided into two groups.The patients in the study group were treated with inceram alumina all ceramic crowns,whereas the control group received Co-Cr alloy porcelain-fuse-to-metal crown.The efficacy and complication were compared between the two groups.Results After a 12-month follow-up,the efficacy was significantly higher in the study group than in the control group( P<0.05 ).The incidence rates of gingivitis and break of the materials were markedly lower in the study group than in the control group ( P< 0.05 ).Conclusions Alumina-based all ceramic crowns is effective and has fewer complications in restoration of anterior teeth.It is worth popularizing.
