Effect and aesthetic evaluation of zirconia all ceramic crowns and cast all ceramic crowns for anterior teeth cosmetic surgery

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of zirconia all ceramic crowns and casting all ceramic crowns on anterior teeth cosmetic repair and the aesthetic evaluation results. Methods Eighty-four cases of anterior teeth cosmetic repair treated in Hanzhoung Stomatological Hospital from April 2015 to September 2017 were selected. They were divided into two groups by random number table, the 41 cases in the control group were repaired by cast all porcelain crown, and the 43 cases in the observation group was treated with zirconia full porcelain crown. The gingival index, bleeding index, looseness, bite force, masticatory efficiency and VAS aesthetic degree were compared between the two groups after 1 and 6 months. Results There were no significant differences in the gingival index, bleeding index, looseness, bite force, chewing efficiency and VAS beauty score between the two groups before repair (P>0.05). The gingival index, bleeding index, looseness, bite force, masticatory efficiency and VAS beauty score of the two groups were significantly improved after 1 week and half a year (P<0.05). The gingival index, bleeding index, looseness, occlusal force, masticatory efficiency and VAS esthetic score in the observation group were compared with the control group six months after restoration, the difference was not statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusions Zirconia all-ceramic crowns and cast all-ceramic crowns both have better effects on the cosmetic restoration of anterior teeth, but compared with cast all-ceramic crowns, the gingival index, bleeding index, looseness, occlusal force, masticatory efficiency and the esthetic degree of VAS after restoration of all-ceramic zirconia are more obvious, and have higher clinical application value.
