Abstract

The second post-Newtonian solution for the equatorial motion of a test particle in the Kerr spacetime is derived under the harmonic coordinates. The effects of the spin-induced quadrupole on the equatorial motion are obtained. The solution is formulated in terms of the Kerr black hole’s mass and spin, as well as the particle’s orbital energy and angular momentum.
