Abstract

Abstract Seventy-two rats received 30 training trials in an automated Y-maze avoidance situation and 150 retest trials 0-hr, 1-hr, or 24-hr later. Manipulations of the pituitary-adrenal system by adrenalectomy, administration of dexamethasone 21-phosphate or a combination of both treatments failed to significantly alter the U-shaped avoidance function typically found as a function of time after original training.
