Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the importance of positive psychological capital and psychological ownership and job engagement in Korean buffet restaurants. An empirical analysis of the effect of positive psychological capital perceived by employees on psychological ownership and job enthusiasm was conducted. The results of the empirical analysis are as follows. First, positive effects of positive self-efficacy, hope, resilience, and optimism on psychological ownership were positively affected by positive psychological capital. Second, the sense of psychological ownership of restaurant staff in Korean buffet restaurants affects positively on job engagement. Third, positive psychological capital of Korean buffet restaurant employees has a positive effect on job engagement. Based on the results of this study, it seems that various forms of support are needed at the restaurant level to improve the level of positive psychological capital of the employees. In the case of positive psychological capital, self-efficacy can be developed through surrogacy learning, role modeling, and positive feedback, so it is desirable to conduct simulation training and feedback. In addition, through the training, employees can have faith that they will be better able to perform as they become aware of the various situations and capabilities that can occur in the course of business execution. It is necessary to be able to improve the psychological capital of the employees by varied education and training because they can overcome even the most difficult problems with less stress.
