Abstract
Abstract It is recognized that the practice of horticultural science is not necessarily synonymous with the general practice of agriculture. Webster’s New International Dictionary defines horticulture as “the cultivation of a garden or orchard, the science and art of growing fruits, vegetables, and flowers and ornamental plants; one of the main divisions of agriculture.” You may or may not agree with this definition or there may be a more accurate and up-to-date one. Nevertheless, the definition does establish certain limits or boundaries of your science. However, the impact of horticultural practices on man and his environment are not as well defined.
