Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze effects of exercise period on factors related to enjoyment and exercise consistency among female CrossFitters. Two-hundred people participated in this study: 50 people were selected from four CrossFit gyms in Gyeonggi-do and Seoul. The SPSS ver. 18.0 was used to analyze the collected data, including frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. In results, there was significant differences between exercise period and enjoyment, including victory and competition, club atmosphere, perceived competence, and practice and benefit. Also, we found significant differences between exercise period and exercise adherence, including exercise habit, exercise environment, exercise ability, interest in exercise, and exercise friends. In conclusions, the characteristics of CrossFit seem to have a positive influence on exercise enjoyment and exercise adherence among female CrossFitters. Particularly, the accomplishment and competitive factor of the CrossFit seem to affect CrossFitter’s enjoyment results in maintaining exercise adherence.
