Abstract
The paper considers the concept of tolerance in different scholars’ works and applies it to determine the notion for the Russian educational environment. Tolerance is viewed as a quality of a person which firstly is formed in the course of socialization throughout life and manifests itself in various fields. A significant role of education, combined with sports and social events in the personality development of each participant of the process is proved.
