Abstract

This study investigates whether e-portfolio based alternative assessment gets better students’ perceptions about educational environment while learning English as a foreign language. Sampling of this study is 48 students, who attended Yerkesik Primary School, Muğla, Turkey. The data has been collected by pre-test and post-tests, exit slips, exam evaluation forms, listing scale and unit self assessment forms. SPSS 14 is used for data analysis. The results of this study show that there is no significant difference in students’ beliefs about learning, teacher, and educational environment. However, experiment group perceives exams more positively than control group does after 12 weeks of e-portfolio experience.
