Abstract

Abstract This research examines the effects of a structured choice-awareness, marriage enrichment program on participants' marital satisfaction and self-concept. Marital satisfaction was assessed using Spanier's (1976) Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS); self-concept was assessed using Fitt's (1965) Tennessee Self Concept Scale (TSCS). Meaningful trends in the predicted direction of increased marital satisfaction and increased self-concept were noted for the experimental group on four of the five sub-scales of the DAS, and eight of the 10 subscales of the TSCS employed in this research
