Abstract
Objectives To evaluate the therapeutic effect of intravesical I~ustillation of pirarabicin (THP)in the cystitis glandularis after transurethral resection. Methods of 87 cases of pathological proven cystitis glan-dularis ,44 cases were managed by intravesical instillation of pirarubiein after transurethral resection (group A) ,and the remaining 43 cases were not subjected to any drug after transurethrai resection (group B) . The recurrent rate and side effects between two groups were compared. Results After follow-up for 36 months (6-54 months) , there were 7 cases and 14 cases of recurrence in group A and group B respectively. There was significant difference in the recurrent rate between two groups (p < 0.05) . The side effects of pirarubicin occurred in 3 cases of group A :urinary frequency , urgency ,edynuria. Conclusions lntravesical instillation of piraruhiein after transurethral re-section can significantly decrease the rerurrence of cystitis glandularis ,and the incidence of side effects was lower.
