Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of WeChat-based network follow-up on the self-care ability and quality of life of patients with diarrheal irritable bowel syndrome(IBS). Methods A total of 200 cases of patients with IBS admitted to this hospital from January 2015 to December 2016 were selected as the study objects, and they were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, 100 cases of each group.Patients in the control group were followed up regularly after discharge.Patients in the observation group were followed up on WeChat platform after discharge, and the intervention time was 6 months.The change of symptoms, self-care ability and quality of life before and after intervention were compared between two the groups. Results After intervention, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, abdominal rumbling, defecation frequency and total symptom score in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The total scores of self-care ability and each dimension of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The physical function, cognitive function, emotional function, social function, role function and overall health score of the patients in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Web-based follow-up nursing can effectively improve the self-care ability of IBS patients, improve the clinical symptoms of patients, and improve the treatment effect and satisfaction of patients.
