Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of Zywave aberrometer in measuring refraction before laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK).Methods Zywave aberrometer and common refraction methods were used respectively to measure the refractive errors in 84 eyes of 46 patients. The sphere, cylinder and spherical equivalent refraction results of each method were analyzed by the statistic software. Results In low myopia group, the difference of the sphere and spherical equivalent refractions measured by auto-refraction and Zywave aberrometer was statistically significant. The sphere, cylinder and spherical equivalent refractions measured by optometry, manifest refraction and Zywave aberrometer had no statistical difference, there was significant difference in the three refractions measured by retinoscopy and Zywave aberrometer. In moderate and high myopia group, the cylinder refractions measured by these methods were statistically significantly different, other refractions had no statistical difference. Conclusions Zywave aberrometer is accurate in refractive measurement. Key words: Zywave aberrometer; Refractive measurement; Preoperative
