Abstract

1. At 150–350° C nickel-phosphorus coatings are marked by very great hardness and are therefore useful for increasing the wear resistance of parts exposed to these temperatures. 2. The wear of parts working at temperatures above 350° C is diminished by the application of electrolytic chromium coatings or by using hardened steels.
