Abstract

Distribution coefficient data for Pu(IV) were obtained at different temperatures in the range 10–60°C for varying concentrations of nitric acid and TBP in dodecane. From these data the enthalpy change for extraction of Pu(IV) was determined. An attempt was also made to calculate the free energy and entropy changes associated with the extraction of Pu(IV).
