Abstract
Background and Aims: Introduction: Arterial stiffness, as measured by carotid-to-femoral pulse wave velocity (cfPWV), is a robust indicator of arterial health and a strong predictor of both CVD events and all-cause mortality in the general population. Socioeconomic status (SES) as well as local environmental and other well-being indicators, such as walkability, perceived safety, etc could affect cardiovascular risk. However, the relationship between arterial stiffness and social well-being at the community level, has not been studied. Aims: Combine community-level and individual-level health indicators, to decode and quantify the possible effect of social well-being on arterial health in an observational, cross-sectional study in the city of Limassol, Cyprus.
