Abstract

The effect of initial breakdown at 1,350°C or 1,000°C and final rolling at 1,000°C, 800°C, 600°C or 400°C on the mechanical properties of arc-melted molybdenum is shown. Tensile, impact and slow bend test results are presented and the influence of stress relief and recrystallisation is also illustrated. The bearing of these results on the production and properties of strip and sheet is discussed.
