Abstract
Measurement of urinary estriol excretion of all pregnant patients allows detection of the fetus at risk of intrauterine death in both complicated and uncomplicated pregnancies. The method of conservative treatment of patients with persistently low estriol excretion described here is recommended when there is no maternal indication, such as severe pre-eclampsia, for termination of pregnancy.
