Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of pharmacy intravenous admixture services( PIVAS) on clinical safety of medication and nursing satisfaction. Methods A total of 64 cases of medical staffs were selected as the research objects and were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, 32 cases of each group.Nursing staffs of the experimental group conducted drug administration and nursing under the supervision of nursing quality in the PIVAS, while the control group underwent routine drug administration and nursing.Twelve months after the intervention, the safety knowledge of the two groups of nurses were compared and the error rate of intravenous drug use, the drug infection and the satisfaction of the patients were compared and analyzed. Results After the nursing quality monitoring was carried out by PIVAS, the qualified rates of the knowledge of safety medication of the nursing staffs in the experimental group were higher than those of the control group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0 05). The drug error rate in the experimental group was 3.23%, and the drug error rate of the control group was 13.73%.The error rate of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group. The difference was statistically significant(χ2=180.12, P=0.00). The drug of the experimental group was transferred by the nursing staffs. The rate of infection was 2 96%.The rate of drug infection adjusted by the control group was 5.14%. The infection rate of the drugs of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group. The difference was statistically significant(χ2=15.61, P=0.00). The patients' satisfaction with the nursing condition, medication and family members of the nurses in the experimental group was higher than that of the nurses in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions The monitoring of nursing quality in PIVAS can effectively improve the knowledge of safety medication for the nurses, reduce the mismatch rate and the rate of drug infection, so as to improve the patients' satisfaction. It is worthy of clinical promotion.
