The effect of psychological nursing and local anesthetics application on the preoperative stress response

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of psychological care and local applicator compound lidocaine cream on preoperative stress response of patients with hypertension.Methods One hundred and twenty patients with hypertension were randomly divided into three groups of forty patients each:control group (A);psychological nursing group (B);psychological nursing and compound lidocaine cream applicator (C).Blood pressure,heart rate,blood sugar changes were compared among patients of three groups separately at the time of preoperative (T0),morning the day of operation (T1),into the operating room (T2),before induction of anesthesia (T3).Results There were no significant differences in SBP,DBP,HR,Glu between T0 and T1 T2 T3 in group C (P＞0.05).SBP,DBP,HR,Glu of T1,T2 and T3 were significantly higher than those of T0 in group A (P＜0.05).SBP,DBP,HR,Glu of T3 were significantly higher than those of T2 in group B (P＜0.05).Conclusions Psychological nursing and compound lidocaine cream applicator can reduce preoperative stress response of patients with hypertension.
